Luke's Blog - Munich

After walking to the city center at 7:45 AM, we were given an excellent tour of the inner city. We learned a lot about the different churches in Munich.

According to the legend, the devil helped build the church with the highest tower in the city. He had been deceived by the citizens so. In return he stomped on the floor and his footprint can still be seen there today outside the church.

We looked at many other churches as well, all had big clocks and loud bells.

Later we looked for a place to have lunch and some of my friends and I considered Macdonald's but luckily we found a cafe. We were worried about the language barrier but it turned out not tribe a problem. The food turned out to be great and those students who chose to eat at Macdonald's were very jealous.

Later we went to Nymphenburg and admired the extraordinary palace. My favorite parts of this massive palace were the ceilings. There were over 60 portraits of everyone that lived in this extravagant building. To see me out front of it, see Lauren's blog post. Mr. Lawson suggested we recreate the royal wedding photo.... We did not comply.

We then took a four hour bus ride to France.

This is Luke signing out.

  1. It is great to read about your adventures and the sites you are seeing! I am living vicariously right now...especially since we are supposed to get 10 cm of snow and rain today in Calgary!
The food sounds amazing...with the possible exception of the pig's head pate...eeeshh!
