Quote of the Day - Emily Street

"Its like eating part of my childhood... I loved Donald." Emily's reaction when told she was eating duck for dinner in Verdun.

Luke's Blog - Munich

After walking to the city center at 7:45 AM, we were given an excellent tour of the inner city. We learned a lot about the different churches in Munich.

According to the legend, the devil helped build the church with the highest tower in the city. He had been deceived by the citizens so. In return he stomped on the floor and his footprint can still be seen there today outside the church.

We looked at many other churches as well, all had big clocks and loud bells.

Later we looked for a place to have lunch and some of my friends and I considered Macdonald's but luckily we found a cafe. We were worried about the language barrier but it turned out not tribe a problem. The food turned out to be great and those students who chose to eat at Macdonald's were very jealous.

Later we went to Nymphenburg and admired the extraordinary palace. My favorite parts of this massive palace were the ceilings. There were over 60 portraits of everyone that lived in this extravagant building. To see me out front of it, see Lauren's blog post. Mr. Lawson suggested we recreate the royal wedding photo.... We did not comply.

We then took a four hour bus ride to France.

This is Luke signing out.

McNally's Message From Abroad - Yummy.... Pig Head Pâté

Strasbourg - means the city of roads and is the capital of the EU. After a four hour bus ride we stayed the night in Strasbourg. At dinner, the appetizer was 'pig's head pâté salad. The consistency of the pig's head pâté was that of jello with pig's head meat mixed in. I did not particularly like this because of the bland and flavorless jelly. Although I did not find it palatable, I had to try it because it is a regional specialty. The main course was delicious! This portion consisted of chicken, noodles, cream sauce and carrot. This was fantastic! For desert we had ice cream. The ice cream was French vanilla and cinnamon. The French vanilla was so rich and flavorful. I thought that I had had good ice cream in North America but now I can see it cannot compare. All in all we had a great stop!

Thanks to the teachers who have taken us to these amazing places!
